Ibercompound expands its ECO-GREEN range with two new powder detergents for more responsible vehicle washing

ECOPOWDER NG-0 and ECOPOWDER NG-300 combine powerful cleaning performance and foam production with formulations designed to reduce the environmental impact associated with professional vehicle washing

Washing a vehicle involves much more than removing dirt from its surface. At wash centres, water, chemicals, temperature and application systems all work together in a process that must deliver effective results while meeting increasingly demanding requirements for the responsible use of resources. The choice of detergent therefore has a direct impact on both the washing process and the results achieved.

This becomes even more important in high-pressure wash facilities. Detergents must be capable of removing different types of dirt, producing sufficient foam to support the washing process and rinsing away effectively. Powder detergents must also perform reliably in dosing systems, where factors such as solubility, particle size and the tendency to clump can affect day-to-day operations.

Alongside these operational requirements, the industry faces a broader challenge: developing washing solutions that take into account the environmental impact of the products used. In this context, sustainability begins with specific formulation decisions and the search for alternatives that maintain the performance required for professional vehicle washing.

It is precisely this combination of performance and responsibility that defines Ibercompound’s ECO-GREEN range, which now welcomes two new powder detergents for high-pressure vehicle wash centres: ECOPOWDER NG-0 and ECOPOWDER NG-300. Both share an important characteristic: they contain no anionic surfactants while maintaining excellent foam production to meet the requirements of high-pressure washing facilities. They are also designed to minimise wastewater discharge parameters that may be assessed during inspections by regulatory authorities.

NG-0: effective cleaning with a phosphate-free and anionic surfactant-free formulation

Within this expanded range, ECOPOWDER NG-0 offers a solution particularly suited to operators looking to incorporate environmental considerations into their washing processes without compromising the performance required in a professional facility.

This powder detergent is designed for washing all types of vehicles in high-pressure wash centres and is formulated without phosphates or anionic surfactants. According to its technical data sheet, this formulation reduces the risk of eutrophication in wastewater, addressing an important consideration in the management of water generated by vehicle washing operations.

The absence of anionic surfactants does not compromise foam production. NG-0 contains specific surfactants that generate abundant foam while allowing it to be rinsed away easily. This is combined with powerful cleaning performance against dirt caused by combustion emissions, oil residues and traffic film.

NG-300: powerful cleaning performance without anionic surfactants

The second addition to the range, ECOPOWDER NG-300, follows a similar principle: delivering a high-performance powder detergent for high-pressure washing facilities without using anionic surfactants.

NG-300 is particularly suitable for washing all types of vehicles in high-pressure wash centres. It offers excellent cleaning performance against dirt caused by combustion emissions, oil residues and, especially, traffic film. Its formulation produces abundant foam that can be easily removed during rinsing. The absence of anionic surfactants is therefore one of its distinguishing features within Ibercompound’s product range.

Both products have been developed with the typical operating conditions of these facilities in mind. Their medium particle size and high solubility promote dissolution in water and help prevent blockages and clumping in dosing mechanisms. The formulations also prevent excessive dust formation and airborne dispersion, making the products easier to handle and use in dosing hoppers.

The result is a range of powder detergents that maintain excellent foaming and cleaning performance while incorporating an important feature for more responsible vehicle washing: the absence of anionic surfactants.

Performance is also part of responsible vehicle washing

Discussing sustainability in vehicle washing requires considering the entire process. The aim is not simply to reduce the environmental impact of a formulation, but also to develop solutions that can be effectively integrated into professional working conditions. A detergent that fails to meet cleaning requirements, causes problems in dosing systems or makes rinsing more difficult can hardly be considered a suitable alternative for professional vehicle washing.

For this reason, Ibercompound’s new ECOPOWDER products remain focused on the performance requirements of high-pressure wash facilities. Both NG-0 and NG-300 offer powerful cleaning action and substantial foam production, while their physical characteristics are designed to facilitate dosing and reliable operation in hopper-fed systems.

Ibercompound: developing solutions with their impact in mind

The addition of these two products to the ECO-GREEN range reflects Ibercompound’s approach to product development, in which responsibility is one of the considerations guiding the creation of vehicle washing solutions. The company recognises that achieving effective washing results also means paying attention to the products used and their relationship with the environment and the professionals who handle them.

The introduction of ECOPOWDER NG-0 and NG-300 expands the options available to wash centres seeking to adopt more responsible processes. Each formulation has its own characteristics: NG-0 contains neither phosphates nor anionic surfactants, a combination that reduces the risk of eutrophication in wastewater. NG-300, meanwhile, eliminates anionic surfactants from its formulation while maintaining the performance required for high-pressure washing. Together, these products translate Ibercompound’s commitment to responsible washing into practical solutions for professionals.

Both products also come with specific usage guidelines. The recommended dosage is between 0.1% and 0.5% at the lance outlet, equivalent to approximately 10–30 grams per vehicle, and should be administered through a dosing hopper. For effective cleaning, the use of properly softened water at a temperature of 60–70°C is recommended, followed by thorough rinsing until the product has been completely removed.

Both products are supplied in 20 kg bags, with pallets containing 40 bags and a total weight of 800 kg.

In terms of their physical characteristics, both detergents are white powders with blue particles, a forest fragrance and a pH above 10.5 in a 1% solution. These technical specifications complete the profile of two detergents designed for straightforward integration into the daily operations of professional wash centres.

With these two additions, Ibercompound expands the possibilities of its ECO-GREEN range and reinforces an important principle for the future of professional vehicle washing: reducing environmental impact must go hand in hand with performance, ease of use and the practical requirements of washing facilities. The development of products such as ECOPOWDER NG-0 and NG-300 brings this philosophy directly into the washing process, with formulations that place responsibility and performance on an equal footing.
